About the VideoMarathon film competition

VideoMarathon is a competition arranged by True Stories in which the objective is to make the best film within a given framework. The contestants have 48 hours to shoot and edit their own film. Throughout the process we will make the participation as simple as possible, as the core idea is that everybody should be able to participate.

After the competition all the films will be shown on this site throughout the year, and the best films will be aired on national TV. The winner is awarded a Film Production Grant of DKK 280.000!

The participation fee is DKK 500 and you can sign up for the competition by using the Internet. Everybody can enter the competition. As the number of participants is limited to 300, we will make a selection. When the contestants have been chosen, they will receive a participant’s contract regarding conditions, rights and a code to the payment of the participation fee via the Internet.

The participating films in VideoMarathon are made by individuals, not by teams. This means that the individual contestant is credited as both director and editor and only this person is present during editing.

There is a free choice of form. The films are judged by how well they deal with the subject matter, regardless of whether actors are used or not.

The contestants will bring their own DV-camera.
